Overnight, the storm is expected to weaken into a tropical storm. It is also expected to speed up as it turns to the north and east.
By Sunday, the center of Nate is expected to move over Alabama towards Tennessee. As it passes over eastern Tennessee, it could bring heavy rain and wind to both North Carolina and South Carolina. The highest risks for damaging winds are in the western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee mountains.
By Monday, the remanents of Nate are expected to move over the Northeast before disappating.
