The Carolina Weather Group has joined the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador project.
The WRN Ambassador initiative is the connecting hub of a vast network of federal, state, and local government agencies; emergency managers and city planners; researchers, the media; the insurance industry; nonprofit organizations; the private sector; and many others who are working together to address the impacts of extreme weather on daily life.
Through their weekly podcast, the Carolina Weather Group provides weather safety information and discussion of good practices for viewers to heed during severe weather.
In addition to the weekly podcast, several members of the panel are actively involved in discussions with local emergency management agencies, the public and businesses in their communities. Through these interactions, the panel members are helping to spread weather safety information to more people than just those who listen to the weekly podcast.
As a WRN Ambassador, partners commit to working with NOAA and other Ambassadors to strengthen national resilience against extreme weather.
If you are a member of the media, government, large or small business, non-governmental organization or academia, you can become a WRN Ambassador too! Visit the Weather-Ready Nation website for more information. Together, we can all work together to create a Weather-Ready Nation!
