David Reese grew up along the Suncoast of Florida where he got to experience daily thunderstorms in the summer and the occasional hurricane. The event that cemented his love for weather was Hurricane Charley in 2004. The incredible power and last minute change in track captured his mind and filled it with fascination for weather.
To further enhance his fascination and knowledge for weather, David went to Florida State University (Go Noles!) where he earned his degree in meteorology. David has been a broadcast meteorologist for WRBL in Columbus, Georgia. He currently works at WCAV in Charlottesville, Virginia.
He experienced it all while working there from tropical storms to severe thunderstorms to tornadoes to flash flooding and even ice and snow storms.
When not working, you can catch him running, working out, or checking out a local restaurant with his wife. He also enjoys attempting to cook. Something he’s gotten a little better at over the past few years.
